Biography
Barry Wolf has been an appellate attorney for more than 30 years. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center and is licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia, as well as in California. He has also been admitted to several federal court bars, including the United States Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Wolf practiced with a Los Angeles area appellate boutique for 10 years, and was a sole practitioner for more than 20. During that time, he participated in more than 75 appellate matters in state and federal courts, and has not lost a published decision while winning 13 representing litigants or amici curiae.
Mr. Wolf is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and is on the executive committee of the Animal Law section. He has received awards for pro bono work from the Los Angeles Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Anti-Defamation League. The latter award was for his efforts in Soldinger v. Northwest Airlines, Inc. (1996) 51 Cal.App.4th 345, where he obtained a reversal for a plaintiff whose religious discrimination case had been dismissed. He has more recently done pro bono work for the Center for Inquiry, an organization that combats pseudoscience, and Plan C, a reproductive health and equity campaign.
Mr. Wolf has published articles on legal topics in the Daily Journal, Plaintiff magazine, the Legal Specialization Digest, Los Angeles Lawyer, and the Environmental Law Reporter.
